Meet Governor-elect Bob Ferguson
Bob Ferguson is a fourth-generation Washingtonian and son of a public school teacher and Boeing employee. Bob has lived and worked on both sides of the mountains, starting his legal career in Spokane. He’s been steadfast in standing up to powerful interests, achieving big victories for Washington families.
Bob forced the companies that fueled the opioid epidemic to pay more than a billion dollars to address the harm done to our community, secured record penalties to combat dark money in politics, and took on polluters, scam artists, and special interests to protect Washingtonians. Bob prioritizes public safety. He is standing up for survivors and victims and holding criminals accountable, with a focus on human trafficking and sexually violent predators.
Bob’s family homesteaded in the 19th century on the beautiful Skagit River, which may explain why Bob is such an enthusiastic mountain climber and backpacker. Bob has hiked hundreds of miles of Washington trails and climbed many of the state's highest peaks.
Bob is an internationally rated chess master. He has twice won the Washington State Chess Championship.
Bob lives with his wife Colleen, a longtime educator, and their twins, Jack and Katie.
